Bachelor's degree in public health or health related field, epidemiology, social sciences, emergency management, information technology or a related field, plus four years relevant experience; OR a master's degree in one of the above fields and three years relevant experience. At least two years of experience must include project coordination or project management.
The preferred candidate would have both strong analytical and communications skills, including written and verbal, as well as the ability to think creatively and strategically. The candidate must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Experience in the collection and reporting of surveys and data. Experience collaborating with health care and public health professionals, government agencies, community groups and other organizations as necessary. Ability to plan, manage, and facilitate meetings. One year of experience supervising staff.
The incumbent will coordinate and manage the development of new and current information technology applications which support grant requirements and Department needs for health emergency preparedness planning, response and recovery activities. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating and communicating with the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness in relation to roll-out, training and release of the information technology applications to meet required timeframes and grant deliverables. Duties will include eliciting and documenting project requirements, scheduling and organizing project team meetings, monitoring application development, authoring progress reports and grant summaries, performing change management, and facilitating user testing and acceptance for PHEP web-applications. The incumbent will also be responsible for emergency response activities that may require travel and after hours work. The incumbent may supervise lower level staff and consultants in the accomplishment of grant related duties. Assist with other grant related duties as assigned.
Night and weekend hours may be required to respond to emergency events and will require travel to locations where public transportation is not available.
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
