Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and two years of administrative experience OR an Associate’s degree and four years of such experience OR six years such experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience researching regulations pertaining to confidentiality and release of records. Experience with procurements and accounts payable. Experience preparing and delivering presentations. Experience managing electronic calendars; utilizing Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, or a similar software program. Experience developing training materials. Experience with or knowledge of the Freedom of Information Law.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Operations Analyst serves as the point person for high priority Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests that come into the Division of Legal Affairs Records Access office. More specific duties will include: acting as the administrative liaison to the Operations Management Group; coordinating training assignments for new staff and processing FOIL requests, primarily those related to privacy, hospitals, and nursing; serving as a liaison for a multi-agency improvement initiative for FOIL using Lean process improvement methodology, working with the New York State Department of Health's Lean Office; and supervising/training temporary support staff. Other related duties as assigned.
