  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and four years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Advanced knowledge of SQL. Five years of experience with relational databases, i.e. – Oracle. Strong data management and analysis experience. Experience in all phases of SDLC. Experience with Java, Spring, MyBatis HTML, CSS, Java Script, JSP, JQuery, JqGrid and/or AJAX. Ability to evaluate and improve data quality and protect confidential data. Five years of experience with Java and Java technologies.

    Responsibilities

    The Systems and Application Development team provides training on information systems applications for both medical providers and AIDS Institute staff; coordinates content and data submissions for federal and State reporting requirements; coordinates submissions with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene/Public Health Solutions; provides information and assistance to grantees in other states; and supports the Governor's Ending the Epidemic Initiatives. The Senior Software Engineer/Developer will oversee and manage software applications integral to mandatory reporting, supervising the team that develops and maintains systems responsible for data collection by providers and field staff to relay electronically to funders. The incumbent will serve in a lead role in planning new development and enhancements of the New York Electronic HIV Management System. Further, they will serve as the team lead, Oracle and web-based expert in development of AIDS-Institute wide products, such as NYEHMS and Electronic Provider Report Form (ePRF) and the Enhanced HIV/AIDS Reporting System (EHARS). Other duties as assigned.
