  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and two years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis experience; OR an Associate’s degree and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience.  A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with JavaScript, including ES6 and JavaScript libraries such as D3, AngularJS, three.js. Experience with RESTFUL webservices. Experience with Object Oriented Development methodology and design from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams and sequence diagrams. Experience developing database schemas, tables, procedures and permissions.  Experience with Webpack, Grunt, NPM, Yarn etc.  Experience with GIT/Jenkins/Maven.

    Responsibilities

    The incumbent will perform computer application development activities in support of the New York State Department of Health Strategic Planning Process for all DOH programs.  Specific duties will include: assisting with the development, testing, implementation, and deployment of user-friendly and interactive simulators and other tools for DOH Strategic Planning Process across all programs; explore and build new and innovative tools in for systematically analyzing, supporting, and communicating the Department’s strategic plan and Performance-Based Decision Making;, assisting with unit testing of software components; participating in joint application design sessions; participating in the release management process; and documenting project and grant activities. Other related duties as assigned.

    Conditions of Employment

    Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
