  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and two years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis experience; OR an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience.  A Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology may substitute for one year of experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with Drupal 7 development and Custom Module Development. Experience with RESTFUL webservices. Experience with Object Oriented Development methodology and design from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams and sequence diagrams. Experience developing database schemas, tables, procedures and permissions.  Experience with both SQL and JavaScript.  Experience with GIT/Jenkins/Maven.


    The incumbent will support computer application maintenance, development, and integration activities in support of the New York State Department of Health Public Website Content Management Platform for all DOH programs.  Specific duties will include: assisting with the support, maintenance, testing, implementation, and deployment of user-friendly and interactive citizen-facing websites and applications on a stable, reliable and secure DOH Drupal platform; explores and builds new custom PHP and web modules on DOH Drupal Platform; understands the business need across program areas, assisting with unit testing of software components; participating in joint application design sessions; participating in the release management process; and documenting project and grant activities. Other related duties as assigned.

    Conditions of Employment
