Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; OR an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field and two years of such experience; OR four years of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Python and with relational databases including Oracle. Experience integrating laboratory instrumentation with information systems; experience developing reports displaying requested data extracts; domain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS); and knowledge of bioinformatics and advanced molecular detection.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer/Developer will join Wadsworth Center's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) team. The incumbent will join a team responsible for the development and maintenance of LIMS modules for Advanced Molecular Detection. Responsibilities will include the use of Oracle SQL and Python to merge data generated by data scientists with information captured in LIMS. The incumbent will contribute to the development and maintenance of applications and processes, and assist in the coordination of implementing new or improved functionality and keeping regulatory compliance. The incumbent will perform other appropriate related duties.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
